International Students

Train with us in beautiful Central Florida and then convert your FAA pilot license to your home country!

Over the years, Air Orlando has welcomed many customers from all over Europe, Japan, the Caribbean, Central and South America, the Middle East and Canada. Some earn FAA licenses and ratings for pleasure and business flying and others train with us to prepare for a flying career. Some enjoy Aerobatic or Tail-wheel training or transition into our Cirrus SR-22 high performance aircraft. Many rent our high quality, well-maintained, late model aircraft from Cessna, Diamond, Piper or Cirrus to travel around the US and into the Bahamas. Often, we enjoy annual or more frequent visits from many of our international customers.

Benefits for international customers at Air Orlando include:

  • We are a SEVIS (International Student and Exchange Visitor Program) approved flight school.

    • We will help you interpret U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) regulations and will assist visa holders with travel signatures, new I-20’s, social security and visa extensions, international student orientation, as well as other immigration matters.

  • Year-round good flying weather means you can train at your desired pace.

  • You will receive personal attention from our qualified staff of flight instructors

    • We pledge not to treat you like "just another student" at our school.

  • Once you are a rated pilot, you can rent our planes to go have some fun!

  • We offer significant cost savings when compared to training in your home country.

    • Even when you include housing, training costs, and the cost of converting your license to JAA, Air Orlando can save you up to 50% when compared to similar training in Europe.

  • You will have the opportunity to master the English language.  ICAO Level 4 English proficiency is required to obtain FAA licenses and highly recommended prior to the commencement of flight training. We can refer you to companies that can help you assess your aviation English proficiency.

  • You will be flying in well-maintained, late model aircraft with modern avionics.

  • We have many nearby airports and instrument approaches.

    • You won't have to go far to get the flight experience you need.

  • You will be covered by our excellent rental insurance, included in the rental cost of the airplanes.

    • Our insurance has very low deductibles, includes high liability limits, and you are protected from subrogation by our insurance policy.

    • No need to purchase additional renter's insurance.

  • We will help you find housing in the local area.

  • Central Florida provides many attractions so you can enjoy your personal time.

"Since of the Dollar-Euro exchange rate is so favorable, I was able to complete my FAA training for a fraction of what the same training would cost in Europe even after factoring in the amounts I am now spending to convert my FAA licenses to JAA licenses."  - Jens S. (Berlin, Germany)

"From my first phone call to Air Orlando Aviation, I knew that your organization was going to be different and it was the 'little' things that made it so. It began with the invaluable one-on-one assistance to help expedite my visa paperwork.... However, it was best illustrated by my Flight Instructors, who customized their ground and flight lessons to maximize my learning opportunities!"
Phil C. (Vancouver, Canada)
